Overview

The needle-free connector lets clinicians access a line without a needle — a split-septum / positive-displacement silicone valve seals automatically between uses to reduce contamination and needlestick risk. Available standalone, combined with a stopcock, or as a small set. PC body with a silicone valve. Supplied to distributors as an OEM component with your packaging.

The valve is the spec that matters

"Needle-free connector" covers several designs that behave differently on the line. The industry groups them by fluid displacement — negative, positive or neutral — and by septum design, split-septum being the family infection-control teams most often specify. Ours is a split-septum silicone valve in a clear PC body: the septum opens when a Luer syringe or set is pushed in and reseals the moment it is withdrawn. Hospital protocols differ by market, so tell us which displacement behaviour your customers specify and we confirm the right build before you order.

A flat septum staff can actually disinfect

Guidelines call for scrubbing the access surface before every connection. That only works if the surface is flat and smooth — a recessed or slotted top traps residue. The silicone septum on this connector presents a flat, swabbable face, and the straight internal fluid path leaves fewer places for residue to sit than a mechanical-valve design.

Standalone, on a stopcock, or as a set

Distributors buy this part three ways: as a standalone connector their customers fit to existing lines and catheter hubs; pre-assembled on a 3-way stopcock so flow control and needle-free access arrive as one piece; or as a small stopcock set. All three come off the same moulding and assembly line, so you can mix variants in one order.

No needle, less risk — for staff and for the line

The point of the part is that nothing sharp is needed to access the line: less needlestick risk for staff, and a closed system between accesses to reduce touch contamination of the fluid path.

Questions distributors ask

What valve design is it — split septum or mechanical?

A split-septum silicone valve in a clear PC body. The septum opens under a Luer syringe or set and reseals on withdrawal. Displacement behaviour is confirmed per configuration — tell us what your market's protocols specify.

Can the access surface be disinfected before use?

Yes — the septum presents a flat, swabbable silicone face, so staff can scrub it before each access as guidelines require.

Does it accept both Luer lock and Luer slip syringes?

Yes. The connector follows the ISO 594 / ISO 80369-7 Luer taper and accepts lock and slip syringes and standard IV sets.

What is the MOQ, and can it carry our brand?

MOQ from 2,000 units as an OEM component, and mixed trial orders are possible. Pouch print, carton and branding follow your design.

Sterile or non-sterile?

Either — EO-sterile individually pouched, or non-sterile bulk, to your market's requirement. Sterilisation validation documents are supplied for your file.
